This exhibition is a rare opportunity to see the range of Auckland Libraries’ exceptional medieval manuscripts collection.

On display are nine medieval books, including 12th-century Greek Gospels, a tiny ‘Pocket Bible’ and massive lectern Bibles. Latin translations of Aristotle feature extensive annotations, including the description of a lunar eclipse in 1312. Painted illustrations include dragons, saints and intricate border decorations.
