Learn how to Compost like an OMG Farmer!

Composting is alchemical process where we transform the dead and dying into a valuable living resource. During this Workshop we will cover the basics of how to compost, whether you live in an apartment or have heaps of land.

We will also discuss how, when and why you would use compost in your farm, garden or māra. The workshop will include several demonstrations of different composting methods plus a practical activity of making one of OMG's famous static piles.

This workshop will cover:

What is Compost? Why should we compost? Circular Systems, Permaculture thinking and waste management.
When should we compost? Soil ecology and the dangers of over using compost.
How to Compost? Demonstrations and a tour of OMG's composting system.
Methodology: Bokashi, Worm Farms, Hot Compost
Practical: Learn how to create a static compost pile, hands on!

This workshop requires you to get dirty! So wear clothes that you don't mind getting covered in filth, wear covered shoes, bring gloves if you have any, if not we can provide you with some.

This workshop is weather dependant, it will be rescheduled if the weather is bad.
